La Cena

On Saturday, October 8th, 2022, our famiglia of Santa Clara de Asis will gather alfresco on our field to fill the night with food, beverage, song and dance. As Autumn prepares to segue us toward Winter, on a balmy Autumn evening, our parishioners will gather, as Tuscan villagers have gathered for centuries, to celebrate the bonds that weave us together. ‘La Cena’ (Lahh…Chain…Ahhhh) is the communal meal of celebration, of taking pleasure in each other’s company, of languorous conversations accompanied with ample food, wine, beverage, song and dance.

La Cena is all about our famiglia sharing table space, enjoying hearty lasagna prepared by Fr. Fred, breaking bread with one another and sharing famiglia stories along with your homemade appetizers and desserts.

Commencing immediately following the 5pm Mass, ‘La Cena’ will feature a full evening focused on the leisurely meal and those who gather to enjoy it. Children are welcome to romp and improvise their play as village children are known to do, all overseen by Miss Emily.

Our 2022 La Cena will financially benefit our new Youth College Scholarship program in which we hope to present a yearly $5000 scholarship to one of Santa Clara de Asis’ high school seniors who have applied.

$45 per adult (15 and up), $25 for children (10-14) and only $10 for bambinos (2-9), infants under 2 are FREE.

Please bring an appetizer to share with your table, and a dessert to leave on the dessert table. The rest of the evening is easy and fun and begins immediately following the 5 pm Mass. Around 7 pm the main course and side dishes are available for everyone to help themselves. You are welcome to come after noon that day to decorate and arrange your table for you and your guests. Wine and summer cocktails will be available for purchase but participants are encouraged to bring their own favorite vino to share.
